Castle Vale Community Housing Association Solar Panel Maintenance

Prior to the advent of Castle Vale Community Housing Association the Castle Vale Housing Action Trust spent 10 years regenerating the Community. The most significant aspect of the regeneration involved the demolition of 1960’s tower blocks and their replacement with new, traditional, low rise housing built using state-of-the-art techniques. Renewable energy may have been innovative at the time, however, the Housing Action Trust made a commitment to environmental sustainability through its redevelopment programmes and incorporated solar heating and grey water systems within a number of its designs.

Sadly the expertise to service and maintain these systems has not matched the capability to install them and, as a result, poor, or no maintenance has caused some of the systems to fail.

Enter G. Purchase Construction Ltd! Already employed in partnership with CVCHA to deliver their responsive maintenance and voids service the Company’s Mechanical & Electrical Division has been commissioned by CVCHA to refurbish, repair, service and maintain all of the Association’s Solar Panel systems. To date approximately 60 properties have been re-commissioned and serviced. The systems will be serviced annually from this point forwards.
