Jephson Housing Association Group

In July 2009 Jephson Housing Association Group appointed G. Purchase Construction Ltd to deliver the responsive repairs and maintenance, and voids refurbishment service to its 2557 properties across Dudley, South Staffordshire, Walsall, Sandwell and Redditch.

The contract is valued at £1.2million per year and the framework is set to last for up to 10 years.

In choosing the contractors, Jephson colleagues from its regional teams and a group of residents carefully scrutinised the submissions made by each of the companies and assessed them against the association’s requirements.

The criteria included the cost of the service they were offering, the quality of the service and their ability to provide a service that achieved performance standards straight away.

A shortlist was drawn up and a team of colleagues and residents visited sites the contractors were already working on to find out more about their work.

A workshop then took place in June to establish how the partnerships would operate in order to ensure things run as smoothly as possible.
