Painting Competition

To decorate the public areas of two high rise blocks that we were refurbishing locally, we held a painting competition involving 10 schools in the Bloxwich area.  We received over 600 entries for the competition.  Thirty two winners were chosen by a panel of judges comprising  representatives from the residents’ committee, WHG and Caldmore Housing residents’ committee. Local artist and gallery owner Alan Cheeseman provided expert guidance.

        Overall Winners

At a grand presentation evening held at the Walsall Town Hall on the 15th January 2008 numerous dignitaries including The Mayor of Walsall, the Chief Superintendent of Police, Chief executives from Walsall Housing Group and Caldmore Housing, and representatives from children’s charities along with families and supporters applauded all of the winners. Thirty winners were presented with a glass trophy, certificate and a cheque for one hundred pounds.  The Mayor and our Managing Director, Mr D. Purchase, presented each of the two overall winners with a trophy, certificate and cheque for two hundred and fifty pounds.
